The building was named The Carnegie after Fort Worth’s first public library. The Carnegie Public Library was built in 1901 with a $50,000 grant from the Carnegie Foundation. It was not only a depository for books, but served as an art gallery, historical museum, theater, and cultural center for almost four decades.
This is a superb environment for forward thinking businesses, with amenities designed for maximum productivity and convenience. The two-story domed lobby - featuring gorgeous marble, patterned terrazzo, and dramatic lighting - immediately announces that this is no ordinary office building. From the distinctive restaurants and retail on the ground floor to the premium, class A office space above, The Carnegie offers a truly prestigious address for companies of all kinds. Thirteen-foot ceilings, high speed elevators, the latest energy-saving technology, and sumptuous finishes add to the appeal and exclusivity of The Carnegie.
The Carnegie stands across the street from the current Fort Worth Central Library, whose architecture was inspired by the historic Carnegie Public Library.
