The Carnegie

The building was named The Carnegie after Fort Worth’s first public library. The Carnegie Public Library was built in 1901 with a $50,000 grant from the Carnegie Foundation. It was not only a depository for books, but served as an art gallery, historical museum, theater, and cultural center for almost four decades.
