MILESTONE REACHED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE CARNEGIE IN SUNDANCE SQUARE Topping Out Ceremony Held for 16-Story Office Building FORT WORTH, Texas (January 24, 2008) — Nearly one year to the day since Sundance Square announced plans to build The Carnegie, a 16-story office building next to the Fort Worth Central Library , the final beam was put into position today. Ed Bass, the project’s developer, and Johnny Campbell, president and CEO of Sundance Square, joined architect David Schwarz and executives from the construction team Linbeck to sign the beam for a “Topping Out Ceremony,” marking the placement of the last beam being secured at the top of the building. Located on West Third Street, between Taylor and Lamar, The Carnegie is the first new building to be constructed in Sundance Square since 2002. The 280,000-square-foot Class A building, will open July 2008. EOG Resources , Inc. (EOG), one of the largest independent (non-integrated) oil and natural gas companies in the United States , has leased nine floors of the building. EOG currently occupies over 50,000 square feet in Sundance Square’s Chase Bank Building and the Woolworth Building. The Carnegie’s tenants will have direct access to the existing parking structure that adjoins immediately to the south. Sundance Square’s restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, as well as additional structured parking, are all within an easy walk. Tenants will enjoy first–class amenities including 13-foot floor-to-deck ceiling heights, high-speed elevators, energy-saving technologies, a grand two-story domed lobby, a high level of finishes throughout the building and ground floor retail and restaurants along with award-winning Sundance Square operations and security. The building was designed by David M Schwarz/Architectural Services, Inc. which has numerous prestigious projects in its portfolio including the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall in downtown Fort Worth, the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and Ameriquest Field in Arlington, Texas. The Projects Group of Fort Worth, led by Vicki Dickerson, is overseeing construction of The Carnegie. The Projects Group has completed such notable projects as the Bass Performance Hall, Chase Bank Building, and Sundance West Apartments.
