Texas Downtown Association Recognizes Sundance Square's Marketing Program as The Best in Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas (October 31, 2007) – The Texas Downtown Association recently named Sundance Square as the recipient of the 2007 Texas Downtown Association Judges Recognition Award: Standard of Excellence for Best Marketing Program. Sundance Square, one of the country’s premier mixed-use developments, was recognized for excellence in marketing of a downtown or commercial district.

“The judges agreed that Sundance Square has set the bar for other cities throughout Texas to market their downtowns,” said Catherine Sak, executive director of the Texas Downtown Association. “As a result, the judges chose to give special recognition to Sundance Square for setting this standard of excellence. The judges only offer the Standard of Excellence Award if one entry truly stands out, as was the case for Sundance Square. Such an honor is not awarded every year.”

The judges for the panel included Charles Betts, Director, Downtown Austin Alliance; Kent Collins, Centro Partners; Kaye Northcott, editor, Texas Co-op Power magazine; Jan Soechting, New Braunfels Main Street Manager; and Julian Read, GCI Read-Poland and widower of Anice Read, founder of the Texas Downtown Association.

“We have a really great team and this award stretches beyond the marketing department at Sundance Square,” said Tracy Gilmour, director of marketing for the 40-block mixed-use development. “Receiving this award is a great acknowledgment of our entire team’s commitment to establish Sundance Square as an unsurpassed destination.”
